Volunteer with Bridges to Safety


We are looking for dedicated, reliable, caring and fun people to provide quality care for the children who come to Bridges to Safety and to also help cover our front desk. Each year, we serve over 1,600 participants and provide supervised play for approximately 350 children ages birth to 12 years from diverse backgrounds. We need your help to ensure that their time at Bridges to Safety is safe and enjoyable.

We encourage applications from people that are bilingual in English and Spanish, Hmong, or Somali. We also encourage applications from people of color and GLBTQ people.

Physical requirements: Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and to be comfortable sitting on the floor for extended periods of time to play with children.

To apply to volunteer at Bridges to Safety, please download, complete, and send us the volunteer/internship application. If your background and interests match ours, we'll give you a call for an interview.

Candidates must provide at least 2 references (ideally including at least one childcare reference) and must be able to pass a criminal background screening. If you ever have received services at Bridges to Safety, at least one year must have passed between the last time you received services at Bridges to Safety and applying to volunteer.

We are very willing to consider unpaid internships for students.

There is no deadline for applying for a volunteer position.
